The day started so nicely ... Duncan slept with us last night, and we all slept so well that when we woke up, daddy had already left for work. Violet was in good spirits until after breakfast, but then she turned into a mess. While I was cleaning up breakfast, Violet fell back from the Radio Flyer wagon and split her lip somehow. Poor thing. So there was snot and blood and tears all over her and my shoulder. I decided to put her in the Ergo for a bit, and then Elizabeth showed up with Coralie and Siri. Such a relief, and it was so good to see her. I'm sad she's in North Carolina now - we have so much in common. We text occasionally, but not enough. They stayed through lunch, and then we all had a pleasant naptime.
I worked on business things during nap - ordered new business cards since I'm almost out of the other ones, and added some pictures to my website. It still needs some work, but it's getting there.
When Violet woke up, I put her on my back and fixed lasagna, then sat Duncan down in front of the tv until Eric got home. I can't tell you the last time I did this - it's been months - but when they're both not feeling well (Duncan was better this morning, but it seems like he has a little cold) and Violet screams anytime I set her down, I just don't know what else to do. Violet was even more of a mess starting around 4:00, so I oiled her up some more, and decided to put the cotton balls/oils/bandaids on both kids' ears. 20 minutes later, Violet was a happy camper. I'm suspecting that Violet has an ear infection (or 2), and that will be confirmed at our appointment tomorrow at 10:45. I'm confident that everyone will get better with the oils, but I'd still like to confirm what I'm treating - ear infection, just a virus, or something else all together.
And now Duncan is crying. Go figure.
Life is still awesome, and I wouldn't change a thing. Though I'm still always happy when Friday arrives!
