Happy 15 months to Violet!

Paleo, day 3.

Breakfast: doTERRA shake, 1 scrambled egg
Lunch: mixed green salad, hard boiled egg, chicken, grapes, slivered almonds, olive oil, balsamic vinegar
Snack: carrots
Dinner: Roasted chicken and vegetables
Snack: "Primal Bar"

I am annoyed. I made these primal bars this evening. I ate one. They are DELICIOUS. Too delicious. I added up the recipe on myfitnesspal.com and they're nearly 500 calories and 40 grams of fat for 1/12 of it. WTF?! So then I looked up the recipe on the original site here. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think you can double all the ingredients (and she has 1/4 CUP of honey, which is what I used) and then cut the bars into the same size and call it the same recipe. That's twice as many calories, etc. as the original. So I'm mad that I just ate 500 calories thinking that it was only 200-something. Eric's taking those delicious things to work because I can't keep them in the house. They taste like peanut butter cups. What also irritates me is that almond flour is dang expensive. I guess I will make some more tomorrow with the "original" recipe (though probably no whey protein powder). Sigh.

Anyway. Good day. :o) Headed to whole foods this morning - can't stay away from that place lately. Then went to my mom's. I have to take advantage of the quiet over there, since it will be 2+ months until the porch and family room are finished. Drove home in rain the entire way, then had (fresh!) roasted chicken for dinner.  Since then, it's been storming and Duncan's been down here ... or we've been trying to get him to sleep. Ah, joy.
