July 6

Duncan is 29 months old today. Next month he will be 2 and a half. Unbelievable. We ordered his little LL Bean backpack yesterday. He'll be going to school next month two days a week for 3 hours. I know it will take him a while to adjust, but he'll love it eventually.

I'm really getting back into cooking and baking. In the past few weeks I've made granola, french bread, sandwich bread, graham crackers, and pretzels. I'm loving our GreenB.E.A.N. delivery each week. I've made a menu for the entire month and am able to get dinner ready each night.

In other  big news, I've signed up for a mini marathon on November 12th. I'm so excited! 'Real' training begins on July 24th (16 weeks from the race), but I've already starting walking/jogging. Not only is this a goal I've had for a while, but it's going to help me get the weight off. Wahoo!

Violet is getting so big! She's staying awake for longer intervals and it much more alert. We even get some contentedness every once in awhile. Still hates the car. She's over 15 pounds.

Duncan tests us every day, but he is a joy most of the time. He's playing alone for longer periods of time and loves his new basement. No real progress on the potty training front.

Bedtime, and walking in the morning!

We need to get Sam a backpack before our (flying cross-country! Ack!) vacation in October. I wanted the LLBean bag, but he would go nuts without a sippy-cup pocket on the outside, so we decided to wait on LLBean until he starts Kindergarten or 1st grade.

Did you try the crash-course potty training? We were going to train in September, but with vacation in late Oct, I either want Sam potty trained (except naps and night time) or not....I don't want half-way there with accidents on the plane and while touring around CA, staying with friends! I'm so torn about what to do: try in August maybe or put it off till November...any advice?
