Adventures

I have been making a real effort to do new things and surround myself with some new people.

I attended my first La Leche League meeting 2 weeks ago. I will be going back!

I joined a new playgroup that meets once a week and does "adventurous" things. Last week we picked blueberries (my first experience doing this - I also made a fruit pie for the first time!), and this week we walked around a local farm and had a picnic lunch.

I have officially signed up for my workshop and ordered my information packets to become a certified childbirth educator and a labor doula. It's not Bradley, but that's all I'm going to share for now!

I attended a music class this morning at a place downtown called Shine. We both really enjoyed it, and I hope Eric will let us sign up for classes. I'd like to take some classes, there, too - besides music classes for children, they have meditation, yoga, and a dance/movement class called Nia. After class, I visited Cake Flour just down the street for the first time, which is an all-natural bakery.

This weekend we are taking a mini-vacation to Cincinnati! We are all excited, and plan on enjoying the weekend by watching Duncan get a kick out of all his new experiences. After all, it's all about the reaction - right, mom? :o)

During my short blogging break, I've decided to refrain from posting about negative things anymore. In The Happiness Project, the author talked about how most people believe that 'venting' or 'ranting makes a person feel better about their frustrations ... when in fact, all it does is make things worse. So, it's only puppies and rainbows from here on out, with maybe a few pet peeves sprinkled in sometimes.

Hard to believe that Duncan will be 17 months old next week, and my nephew will be 2! Unreal.
