This year is sure to be an exciting one. Duncan is becoming more of a "little man" each day, and I wake up looking forward to seeing his smiling face and wondering what he'll do that day to surprise us. He's cruising the furniture and walls, making new sounds all the time, and is constantly on the move. This may sound strange, but the more that I enjoy Duncan, the more I look forward to him becoming a big brother some day. As of right now, the plan is to be expecting #2 one year from now. We have both agreed that we'd like Duncan to be at least 2 when the next baby arrives.
Duncan's first Christmas came and went, and we all enjoyed some quality family-time and lounging around at my parent's house. The actual day itself was rather busy: We had breakfast at Diana's house with her parents, lunch with Eric's family, and dinner with mine. Duncan did just fine, though, and took two pretty good naps for us.
We have not spent much time at our house the past two seeks since Seth, Jeanine, and Liam have been visiting. As a result, the house is a wreck. Oh, I should probably mention that we took our house off the market. We've decided to stay here and do some redecorating. We are both excited about it and have made 2 trips to Ikea while Eric's been off! So far we have painted the alcove in the kitchen by the table (the color is called "oatmeal," but it's more of a dark mocha color) and started assembling our new Ikea bookcases. The kitchen will all be that color, as well as the 3 main walls in the living room, but we'll use a lighter color for the hallway and up the stairs through the rest of the hallway upstairs. A new couch is hopefully coming soon, too, as well as painted cabinets and laminate flooring throughout the first floor! We wanted to do something more eco-friendly, but it's just not in the budget.
Eric heads back to work tomorrow, and me and the bebe will resume our normal routine. This is a good thing because these two weeks have wreaked havoc on my WW points. I've gained a few pounds, but I'm not discouraged because I know I can get back on track. I was only 4 pounds away from my goal weight as of December 16, so I'm not worried. I may take a small break from all the baking for a little bit, too, so that temptation will no longer be around.
Goals for the year? Reach my goal weight and become a WW lifetime member. Be nicer to people. Love the Earth. Enjoy every moment with my amazing family. Continue to cook, bake, sew, and make new things.
