Feeling better

With the exception of some cramps yesterday, I am feeling much better and a lot more optimistic about the future.
Even though what happened is extremely sad and we will always remember it, there are many reasons to be ... somehow okay with the fact that this happened. I mentioned this in a post a few days ago, about us having more time to plan and be together and save money, and that is essentially what I mean here. Now that we're past the surgery and past telling everyone what happened, we are looking toward the future. We can focus 100% on each other and on our jobs. I am anxious to get my Mary Kay business up and going - I know that if I put forth effort, I can make it worthwhile. I am excited for that. Also, I put on a few pounds in the past few months, so I'm looking forward to taking that off, and especially since it's spring! I love being outside in April and May, especially in Louisville! We have Thunder and Derby to look forward to - mom, dad, and myself are doing the mini Marathon. I plan on walking/running with mom and dad will run; Eric will be a cheerleader. :o)
Thanks to the government, Eric and myself are looking forward to either doing something nice to the house or taking a small vacation. We were planning on taking a small vacation sometime this year before the baby anyway, so why should that change? We haven't really gone anywhere for ourselves since the honeymoon, so I'd say it's about time. I've been looking at Bed and Breakfasts in New England. Suggestions welcome.
So, I guess what I'm trying to say is ... even though there has been a setback early in the year, I still anticipate 2008 to be a wonderful year.
Anyway, on Friday I went out with mom because I was getting a bit stir crazy being in the house all week. We went to lunch and to the mall - I bought some really cute shoes from Lands End (at Sears) and a wallet thing at Stein Mart. For dinner, we met Rob and Ashley at Red Robin and then we started our taxes. That's always fun!
This morning we had a late lunch at Abby and Troy's (apple cinnamon waffles, bacon, sausage - very good!) and we got to see the baby. Abby was afraid that I wouldn't want to see the baby because of what happened, but seeing the baby just gives me more practice. I need all the help I can get for the future. The baby, Anna, fell asleep in my arms. She's so precious ... 5 weeks old.
Now we are at my parent's house and we finished our taxes. I took a short nap and now we are waiting for the split pea soup to cook. Later, we are all going to Hallmark to pick out Valentine's cards for each other, haha. I think Eric may have a surprise for me, though ... just a suspicion. I still don't know what to get for him.
I love sitting here in the chair in front of the fire ... as long as Eric is here, it's one of my very favorite places.

1 Observations or Opinions:
Yes, New England sounds good for a trip! Come to Massachusetts!
Yay for taxes-- I'm getting back $900! However, most of it is going towards my car loan.
