I only post about what goes on ... I don't really post about my thoughts, so since I'm sitting here on my day off (loving it by the way) and watching the Today show, I thought I'd share something that may not be that interesting, but it's more than what's just going on.
Last night while Eric and I were sitting on the couch, I started reading my journal from Strasbourg. It's 89 pages long and I wrote every single day that I was there, no matter what country I was in or what time of day it was. So many things have happened since Strasbourg, but it seems like yesterday. Time is so weird. I was thinking about going to get my haircut - which is a weird connection, but it has a point, I promise. So you get your haircut about once every six months (at least I do - I know other people get it cut every month or so) and you have the same person cut your hair every time. During those six months, you might be miserable in your job or you feel like your life is so boring, but then you start to talk to your hair person. You realize how much has happened since the last time your hair was cut. That's how I feel about my life. I know a lot has happened, but I feel like these past six months or so have gone by so slowly and that nothing exciting has happened. Part of this problem is my perception of time, as well as my impatience for things to always happen. I know that this is a problem and I am working on it. I have lots of things that I need to work on ... they keep me busy. :o)
After I read a few posts from that journal, I opened the document that contains all of the emails between Eric and myself from our first year together. They go all the way from:
See, there was this guy that went with us that I wanted to go to prom with but ... he has a date. So, I was wondering ... would you go with me? As friends, of course - but you're a lot of fun to be around and I thought that maybe if you were free then you'd like go with me? It's on Saturday, April 27th - I suppose I don't HAVE to have a date, but it would be nice. You know? :o) And you're ... well, you're cool!
The emails go all the way from the beginning and they are a nice thing to read every once in a while. So much has happened in the past four years, it's ridiculous.
Okay, I need go go shower.
