I am absolutely LOVING this weather. It was almost cold enough to see my breath this morning. I'm so happy that I get out of work early enough now to be able to enjoy it! Our newly installed thermostat was off when I walked in the door tonight, so the indoor thermometer that Eric stole from my grandma (haha) says that it is 60 degrees in our house. Loving it. :o)
Work went by pretty slowly today, but I learned a lot of useful things, hehe. Mom is kind of upset that I am allowed to use the meat slicer. Sorry mom! What can I say ... "Sorry everyone, I can never cut deli meat for anyone because my mommy won't let me!" :o) I learned how to take care of the salad bar, make cuban sandwiches on the griddle (they smelled really good), and I also learned how to make the fried chicken. Okay, I know that this sounds ridiculous, but I really am enjoying it. Sara, my boss and the lady who has been there for 19 years (since she was 16!), is so great and I can talk to her about anything. Today we talked about how Justin Timberlake is "such a hottie" and also about having kids and being married and all that stuff. I am so glad that she is there. Anyway, today she made all of the food because Dietra wasn't there and I watched Sara do some of it. It's amazing - they go shopping in the morning and get all of the stuff they need, then make a HUGE meal to feed at least 50 people every single day. There is a very specific process of how she makes in all and in what order she makes things, and I really want to learn. She said that she would teach me. Then I'll know how to make stuff. :o) I made a really kickass Spongebob cake for a kid today, too. My cakes are getting better - I was a bit rusty for a while, but they're getting back up to speed. All I need to do now is work on those roses.
After work I went straight to Terena's and worked for an hour and a half, and then came home to a cold house and a loving husband. I'm watching "That 70s Show" while Eric is trying to fix the thermostat. Tomorrow is Friday, but not really for me because I have to work on Saturday. It will be okay, though - I should get to do cakes most of the day on Saturday. So I have Sunday off and I'll have a day next week off again. I'm not sure how I'm going to like not having two days in a row off, but if I need a day off I can just take it off and not get paid. I won't get vacation for a year, so when Chrissy's wedding comes around, I'll have to work some longer days in order to have the week off. Honestly, I'm not too worried about it because I'm enjoying what I am doing and I'm loving the hours. So for now, it's all good. :o)
Eric is frustrated. Maybe I can cheer him up with ice cream. :o)
