Happy Friday the 13th! Nothing bad happened; it has actually been a very good, although tiring day. When I got to work I started on cakes right away and did not finish until 3:20. One order requested nine cakes (all the same - they were for a business), and then there were a few more for tomorrow. So as of right now, we're all set for tomorrow. Hopefully we will not have to make any in the morning and we can just work on backups. Dietra said that Saturdays are busy, but I'm not too worried.
I had lunch with mom at Fazoli's, which was very tasty. When I got home from work I took a nap, and I was apparently more tired than I realized because I slept over an hour until right before Eric got home. We met my parents at QDoba for dinner and then stopped at Watkins Memorial Church on Westport to pick out our very first pumpkin. It looks nice on our front porch. :o) Now we are back home and Eric is playing Grand Theft Auto (my favorite - not) and hopefully he will stop once I am finished with the computer.
Tomorrow is Race For the Cure and I had really intended on doing it, but I did not realize until after the schedule was already made that I would have to work during it. Eric is going to help out at my grandma's yard sale, so that's really two things that I am missing that I wanted to be involved with tomorrow. But what can you do? I am enjoying my job, and I don't mind going in to work - that's the goal, right? Find something you love and do it. I guess I wouldn't say that I'm in LOVE with my new job, but I enjoy it, and it's 100 times better than Humana or the bank. That is definitely a good thing.
Eric fixed the heater last night - he was very happy with himself, but he deserved to be. We called the AC/heating people and they said that when you change the thermostat, the warranty is immediately voided. Pretty upsetting. So I suggested calling Cameron to see if he knew anything about that. Eric asked me to do it since I know him better, so I did, and I felt SO AWFUL - he was at the hospital waiting for his wife to get out of surgery. She was having her lymphnodes removed because her breast cancer had spread to them. Click here to read their story. I said I would call back at a better time but I guess he wanted to talk to get his mind off of it for a second, so he asked what was going on and insisted that it was okay that I had called. He said he didn't know about the warranty, but suggested just putting the old one back on and calling them back today. Well, Eric wanted to fix it himself, so he found the blown fuse and replaced it - and it worked! So yay for him. :o) We were nice and warm last night.
Have I mentioned that I love Autumn? Today was gorgeous.
Alright, maybe I can watch some TV now. Hehe. :o)
