I'm pregnant.

There. I said it.

Having experienced an early miscarriage in the past, the first few weeks are almost like torture - constantly wondering if there is indeed a little miracle heartbeat inside my uterus - but I've decided to go ahead and share the news. Why? Because I can't keep secrets, and the chances are pretty good that if I kept it a secret and I did end up miscarrying, then I would blog about it anyway. Honestly, though, I am feeling pretty good about this pregnancy (though I use the word 'good' very loosely) because I've felt nauseous all day long since last Friday.

The 'guess date' is April 18th. Today I am pregnant and I love my baby.

We interviewed a midwife today, and she is probably the one that we will use ... not only because we like her and her credentials, but because she will come to my house for prenatal visits. Can't really beat that kind of service! We are interviewing another midwife on Sunday, and we'll be driving to Bloomington to meet her. My parents will be keeping Duncan, and I'm kind of excited about a day alone with Eric!

Needless to say, I'm not taking care of the baby anymore. Nausea + 1 newborn + 1 teething toddler = meltdown mommy. I know I will have to deal with 2 in the near future, but we'll have time to get Duncan used to the idea, and by April, he will understand more of what's going on. I know he was extremely confused, and it absolutely broke my heart when I had to say no to him and he couldn't understand why.

So, that's all from here!

Huzzah!
