Resist Impulses

During her Happiness Project, Gretchen Rubin comes up with 12 Commandments by which to strive to live each day. Several of mine match hers (Let it go, for example), but I came up with a few of my own, too. One of them is "Resist Impulses." This was put to the test yesterday when I saw that the diaper bag that I'm yearning for was on babysteals.com (or maybe it was babyhalfoff.com - I can't remember) at $60 instead of the usual $120. I called Eric immediately and asked if I could order it. He said that I could, so I grabbed my debit card and ordered it. Five minutes later, I was looking over the receipt page thinking about how the pattern that I'd ordered (they had limited options) was not the one I would have ordered if I'd had the option of all of the patterns. Then I saw the button at the top of the page that said, "You have 15 minutes to cancel this order." I thought about it, and remembered my new "commandment," and pressed the cancel button.

I picked up my parents from the airport last night. We were all happy to see each other, and I'm sure they were glad to be back on the ground after 21 hours of traveling. They are coming over today to visit and see Duncan. He is currently taking a morning nap, so we'll see how the afternoon goes!
I've been meaning to do a post about our redecorating in the living room, and post pictures of our fabulous new green chair and the pillows that I've purchased. I will do this soon, but I received a transcription job yesterday that is about 3 hours long, so my life will be consumed by that beginning tomorrow morning and ending on Tuesday (when it's due).
