And so it begins.

Until Saturday, Duncan had only been pulling up on "short" things like the side of his steps that Eric made, or his wagon walker. Well, Saturday night he pulled up on the end table, which is much higher. I guess he finally figured out that it's much easier to get onto your knees and then reach up instead of just grabbing on with your arms and pulling as hard as you can! He even took a few steps along the coffee table at my parent's house, so I'm sure that full-on cruising is not far behind.
Our first choir concert of the season is this coming Sunday afternoon (and Monday night). I'm looking forward to it, but I don't look forward to the 6 hours of rehearsal between now and then. I'll survive. :o)
Thanksgiving is next Thursday! Ridiculous. Life between Thanksgiving and New Year's speeds by, for me, faster than any other time of the year. I'm excited for Duncan's first "holiday season." He definitely stared at the lights on the Christmas trees surrounding Santa at the mall the other day (yes, he's already there), so I think he'll enjoy all the lights and sparkly things. Also extremely excited for Seth, Jeanine, and Liam to be up here for 2 weeks! I think the babies will probably "notice" each other this time.
We have our Christmas pictures scheduled for December 5th, and I'm really excited for those, too. We don't plan on buying much since we did a big package a few months ago, but maybe one family shot for our Xmas cards and then one of him by himself.
No real plans for today except choir rehearsal tonight. I may go to the mall just to get in some exercise. I think the mall makes the majority of their money (during the non-holiday season) from stay at home moms who go there because of a lack of something else to do with their children. It's kind of unfortunate, I think ... I'd rather walk around outside, but I can only walk around the neighborhood so many times.

1 Observations or Opinions:
I go mall walking 2-3 times per week, but I rarely shop. I did last week, but I also went in to buy something and then planned to walk afterward. It is quite an accomplishment to go walk and browse but not shop. I somehow feel empowered that I'm not giving into the sales gimmicks on impulse buys that I only see because I'm there and didn't go in specifically to find!
