Eric is in Mexico this week, and when I left I have to admit that I was terrified of spending the week alone with Duncan. I am fine during the day when Eric is at work ... but all the way in Mexico? I haven't spent a night without him since Duncan was born. Well, Sunday night came and went, and we survived. Since then, each day has gotten a little better. I really don't know how single mommies do this, though. I look forward to every evening when Eric gets home because I have an extra set of hands to help. Duncan is starting to crawl really fast now, and I can't just set him down and expect him to play with a toy while I heat up his bottle before bedtime or make myself some lunch. He still doesn't really crawl, though; it's more of an army crawl - very cute. :o) Tonight at dinner he went to town on 2 slices of cucumber! He's getting pretty good at eating, and he loves those little puffs, too. It's very cute to watch him eat.
Let's see, what else is going on ...
Work is picking up. I am almost always working on a transcription now, which makes both Eric and myself very happy! More money is always good.
No recent bites on the house. Slowly losing hope, but I'm trying to stay optimistic. We have until October 20th.
Choir is going great - I really like all the songs we are singing this concert. It's on November 22nd, if anyone wants to come! It's going to be really good. :o)
I am getting more and more into sustainability and I am really enjoying it. I feel pretty healthy, too. I haven't eaten red meat in over a month, and I've only had organic chicken. I am eating fish, though. I don't buy anything with high fructose corn syrup or trans fats, and I haven't had a soda in quite awhile. I try to buy organic things, but I have to keep it in check because it costs more.
Still going pretty strong on Weight Watchers. I'm up to 37.4 pounds. I have 17.8 pounds left to reach my goal weight.
My mind is going in a lot of directions these days. Several girls from playgroup are pregnant again, and that has me thinking about being pregnant in the future and the choices I will be making (although we are not planning on getting pregnant with #2 until fall/winter of 2010). I am also thinking about Duncan's future and pre-school. I toured the Waldorf School on Tuesday, and I fell in love with it. I really went to check out the parent-child classes that they have (like a playgroup, but more organized), but we toured the whole school (it's not that big), and I wish that I could go to school there! Haha! But it all sounds amazing and I am hoping that Eric may warm to the idea. Trying to take it slow, but I am easily excited. :o) If you have never heard of Waldorf education, please check it out. There is only one school in Louisville, but there are almost 1000 schools worldwide.
I would like to post pictures, but I can't seem to find the camera cord.
Really looking forward to Eric getting home ... and I know he feels the same. His travels take on a different meaning now that Duncan is in the picture.

Great post babe. I love and miss you too, and I'll be home soon.
I finally remembered my password....great post
Hey ya'll!
My mom used to play piano for one of the music classes at Waldorf. If you're looking for a different point of view, I'm sure she'd be willing to talk to you!
