Snow!

Ah, Louisville weather. When they predict we'll get 3 inches, we don't get any; when they predict we won't get any, we get 2 inches. Gotta love it. So we woke up to a snow-covered ground today. :o)

We kept ourselves busy yesterday! We met mom at the mall for some CPK and walked around afterward. We went to Babies R Us (hopefully for the last time before he's born!) and bought a Kiddopotamus bundleme thing for the carseat when it's cold outside, and we bought a playard sheet. Then we headed to Amazing Green Planet to pick up our Nellie's - yay! We headed to Robley's from there and took care of the kitties, then went home. I took a nap while Eric watched "The Happening," and then we had some grilled cheese and tomato soup for dinner. We started watching "Tropic Thunder," but it kept skipping, and was completely too stupid for me, so we turned it off and watched "Back to the Future," Part 2. I love those movies.

This morning, my appointment went really well. She estimated as well as she could and guessed that the baby is about 8 pounds. There's no way to really know, but it's nice to hear an educated guess. :o) She also said that his heartbeat sounds beautiful. We are going to do an exam next week just to see if anything is happening - fine with me, since I'll be so close to my due date. I REALLY do not want to be induced ... but we'll just have to approach that topic if it comes up and weigh the risks and benefits of it. Even if I end up with a c-section, I'd still like to go into labor by myself. But we'll see. No one knows. :o) Next appointment is the 26th. We stopped by work and I dropped off my keys and picked up my final paycheck, then picked up some lunch. We stayed at my mom's for a little while to eat and watch "Family Feud," then headed to St. Matthews Mall just to walk around.

We got home around 3:00 and I've been taking a nap since then. Eric finished "Tropic Thunder," and now we're watching Part 3 of "Back to the Future." Eric is making dinner :o) and Mabel is staring longingly out the window at the snow falling. It's so pretty!

Happy Birthday, Seth!

Just one play yard sheet??? Man, we had 3 of those things since they get peed on, pooped on, thrown up on, and drooled on every day!

A suggestion that someone told me before I had Sophie (maybe I told you this already, but it was one of the best pieces of advice I got!):

Get at least two sets of sheets and mattress covers for your crib/play yard/etc. Then put two layers on--one mattress cover, one sheet, one mattress cover, one sheet. That way, when he throws up everywhere or his diaper leaks in the middle of the night, all you have to do is take the top layer off and voila! you have a brand-new bed made already. If you've tried wrestling with your baby mattress already, you'll understand why this is a huge help!

You actually told us about this trick a few months ago - the sheets are set up like that already on our crib. :o) With the playard, though, we just don't know how things are going to go yet, so we may get more ... we may try having him in his crib right away since the nursery is literally 5 steps from my bed. Just not sure until he's here. Thank you!
