39 weeks!

Nothing happening yet ... still waiting. :o/ I am ready for something to happen!

Watched TV all day yesterday, as many other people did. It was interesting, and I really enjoyed it all. Mom and dad came to visit me yesterday around 3:00, which I was very thankful for! They stayed until it was time for Eric to leave work, and we met him at Moe's for dinner. Yummy! Eric and I went to the grocery afterward for some necessities, then spent the rest of the evening enjoying being lazy.

Two things I am going to complain about right now ...

1. Mayor Abramson is trying to work out the budget deficit in Louisville, and one of the things he's proposed is to raise the monthly take-home fee for police cruisers from $35 (it might be a little bit more than this, but not much) to $100 a month. The police officers, of course, are protesting this, and I think it's freaking ridiculous. Okay, the $35 a month they get free gas, oil, and they don't have to pay insurance. COME ON. I wish that we could all pay that much a month and not have to buy gas or car insurance. People are going to have to give a little bit if they want the budget deficit to be fixed, and if this is one way to do it, then I think those police officers should get over it and realize how lucky they are in the first place to not have to pay for those things already.

2. The oldest firehouse in Louisville (and in the country) closed a few weeks ago and the people in that neighborhood have been fighting and protesting to save the firehouse. Closing this firehouse will save money and help the budget. The part that irritates me so much is that this firehouse was on the slate to close REGARDLESS next year. These peoples' efforts are fruitless. I don't understand!

Today ... I may do some baking. Depends how I feel. :o)
