Great Timing

We had a great first day! After a nice breakfast, we walked over to the Visitor's Center and picked up our tickets for a few events and made reservations for tonight at the Tavern. We looked around the two stores in there, too. Then we walked over to the historic area. The first place we toured was the Capitol. Our tourguide was great. When the tour was over, we decided to take some pictures. The camera was acting really funny - kind of turning itself on and off and there was nothing on the screen. Eric worked on it during lunch, but we think it's busted. Great timing, isn't it? We can't be here without a camera, and we definitely can't have a newborn baby without a camera, so we may be heading to Target today to purchase a new one. We're just going to get the Sony Cybershot again, only the newer version. We did buy ours in 2003, so I guess the one we have has lasted a pretty long time.
After the tour at the Capitol, we walked back down the street and then across to this place near the Inn called the Golden Horseshoe. It's actually a the golf club, but they have a really nice cafe that overlooks the course. It was very pleasant! We had a nice lunch, then walked back over to the historic area and visited a few places - the cobbler and the saddlemaker, a few stores, and then up to Merchant's Square to some more stores. We got a pick-me-up at the Cheese Shop, a shoda and a cookie, and then Eric and I headed back to the hotel to take a nap because my feet were hurting me. Mom came back, too, a little bit after us, and we relaxed for a little bit.
We headed back over right before 5 to catch the fife and drump corps do some marching and some patriots fire some muskets. Very cool. We had about an hour and a half to kill before our Lanthorn tour, so we had dinner at the Cheese Shop and then sat in the William & Mary bookstore/Barnes & Noble until it was time to go. Our tour was very nice - we saw the printing press, book binder, apothecary, and the wigmaker by candlelight. My only complaint is that there were no chairs during the whole tour, but I survived. :o)
I've felt really large these past few days ... I guess that's what being almost 27 weeks pregnant feels like. Time flies when you're having fun. :o)
