Busy!

Yesterday and today have both been pretty busy, although relaxed days.

Tuesday ... we went to the Art Museum first. Then we heard Thomas Jefferson speak/answer questions. He was so interesting! The guy who plays him has been here for a really long time and he is the official spokesperson for Colonial Williamsburg. We all enjoyed hearing him speak. Afterward, we had lunch at Shield's Tavern. Then we toured the Palace, and Eric and I went back to take a nap. After dinner at Huzzah's close to the hotel, we took the bus over to the Palace stop and enjoyed an hour long concert by candlelight in the ballroom. It was wonderful! There was a harpsichord, a violin, a German flute, a cello (I think) and a singer.

Today, first we went to Jamestown. We walked around the exhibits inside, along with all of the school children in Williamsburg (haha), and then walked out to the Powhatan village, the ships, and finally the fort. Very cool! We drove to a local place for lunch called the Chickahominy Inn. It was very southern - we loved it! Biscuits with country ham and some Brunswick stew. :o) After lunch, we walked all around the outlets and found some good stuff. I got some slip-on black shoes that are very comfy (finally!) and also some sweatpants that I can wear around the house from Motherhood. Can't go to the outlets without stopping in there! We had a very nice dinner at New York Deli, then stopped at the Williamsburg General Store, a Christmas store, and Dairy Queen on the way back to the hotel.

I am worn out! But we are having lots of fun. :o)
