22 Weeks

Where does the time go? I feel like weeks 16 to 20 just simply disappeared! Apparently our baby boy is the size of a papaya this month ... is that what a papaya looks like? Haha. I guess the pictures will be monthly now instead of weekly. That's no fun!

Watch what you say -- baby is now able to hear outside noise from down in the womb. Studies show that baby finds gentle music and your own voice most soothing. Nipples are starting to sprout, and that little face is fully formed. And, baby's starting to settle into sleep cycles, snoozing about 12 to 14 hours a day. It shouldn't be hard to figure out when -- just pay attention to those kicks as they start and stop.

Our baby is about 16 ounces, so that puts us right in the middle. Actually, if I remember correctly, our tech said that we are in the 50.1 percentile for weight, which is really good! There's no way to measure length right now because they are all squished up in there, but if I had to guess, I'd say our boy is going to be very long thanks to his daddy's height. :o)

Last night was so relaxing. We had steak and fresh corn on the cob for dinner, with some pineapple, and we watched "License to Wed." Afterwards, we made a trip to Lowe's to pick out some paint and buy some casing for the window in the nursery. We have decided to do something a bit different - we are going to paint the window casing and the chair rail blue. We may paint the trim around the doors, too, but we're going to wait and see. I think it will look really neat in there once we're finished painting. We're doing one thing at a time, though. So, we bought paint and a few other things. Tonight we are going to paint in the garage. Yay!

It smells so good outside - just like autumn! I saw several flocks of birds this morning flying south. It's so cool how they just know to do that. Nature is awesome. :o)
