Holiday!

I never really looked forward to 4th of July much ... I mean, it's fun, I guess, but we never really celebrated anything. Usually, when I was younger, we'd just watch the Boston Pops and John Williams play in that cool shell thing. I think it was in Boston? I'm not sure. But anyway ...
Today lasted forever, of course. Some people left early and that just made the day drag on even more. Mom did meet me for lunch, though, and we tried a new place called Shiraz. It's Mediterranean! I really liked it, especially the Tzatziki sauce. YUMMY. After work, I met mom and Eric and QDoba for some dinner and then we went deck furniture shopping. We had lots of success! Apparently the 4th of July is the time to go get deck/patio furniture because everything is on clearance. The website has a different price, but the price tag said that the set we got was originally $999. We got it for $600 less than that! Here it is. We love it!
Eric made lots of progress today on his day off of work. He finished all the deck boards and now it looks complete out there. :o) He also cut the ends of the boards for the pergola and it looks very pretty. He got one of those up (the one on the far end of the house away from the kitchen). We have until August 1st to finish it all and stain it and get our furniture put out. That's when we're having our "Deck Initiation/Happy Wedding, Greta & Brian/Welcome home everyone because we're not all in the same town very often PARTY" Hehe.
Tomorrow we are off to Chicago. Right now Eric is putting up the shelf in the kitchen that we bought from Ikea while we were in Texas. He just really frustrated with it. So we'll see how that goes.
Time to pack, etc. Yay!

3 Observations or Opinions:
A bit late, I know...but was the Ikea shelf harder than the mirror? :-)
Hey, my sister Sarah works at the Shiraz in Holiday Manor! You should go visit her :)
We may go there today for lunch! I'll keep an eye out for her. :o)
