Craziness

This was a crazy afternoon. We left work at 11 and headed out to Crestwood for the 2008MY and E* team outing. Mark rented a paintball range and gun range for 9 of us. So we shot 9MMs for a while and had a shooting tournament. That was fun. Mark won because he shoots all the time. But it was still fun. I had never shot a handgun before and I was a little nervous about it. But once you load it and start aiming it all goes away. Pretty exhilirating I must say. So after that we started paintball. Really its reballing because they use these plastic balls so you can reuse ammo. Good idea to whoever came up with it. That was awesome. The other team had 5 people so one of the guys who works there was on their team. And he had a 1000 dollar gun to our rental guns and his gun had a double trigger and needless to say they won like the first 10 rounds. But after that he came to out side and we won one. Then we started playing 6 on 6 but the good guy stepped out and some younger kid was playing. So that was a little better cuz he wasn't as good. We started winning and won more than 50% of the remaining games. It wasn't painful at all but I didn't take any bad hits. Super hot in there though.

So then on the way home Mark Shah is driving and we are on Snyder and in the opposite lanes of traffic we see this duelie pickup truck with a bed full of rocks just slam into the barrier and slide along the cable barriers for about 150 feet. No other cars were involved but his truck was jacked up. I'm guessing maybe with such a large weight in the back he might have blown a tire and just lost control. So we were right in front and across from him when it happened...if he hadn't had a barrier to stop him he definitely would have entered the median and maybe our lanes of traffic. Scary thought. So anyway I called 911 and gave them my information and what I saw. Took forever for it to pick up. I was thinking back...I don't think I've called 911 since my first car accident. Back when I Tboned a small pickup truck in front of Lake Forest at 3 in the morning after my senior year of high school. No one was on the road that late so I had to call for myself. My more recent totaled car accident there were tons of people and bystanders so they called and I just sat there in disbelief that some lady was that bad a driver. But I hope the guy is okay. He looked like he was moving around. His passenger got out and wasn't covered in blood or nothing. Probably didn't mess up the cabin at all, just ripped the back axle out from underneath the rear end. Like I said. Craziness.

Now I'm waiting for Katherine to get home. She is stuck in traffic on Taylorsville Rd. And I'm debating if I'll work on the deck tonight. Didn't feel much wind outside, just lots of heat. I probably will just because there is a good chance of rain tomorrow and that would suck. A whole day to sit at home in the rain and do nothing. I might just go crazy.
