Come back here so that I may brain thee!

So I'm in LA. Woohoo! Its about 93 degrees outside but my car read 103 when I got into it earlier. Enough said.
I had a really good flight out. No stinky or annoying seatmates and no delays. And I just got off the phone with GE travel and they helped me move my flight back to Wednesday, not Friday. Of course, everyone knows the Derby is this weekend so flights were scarce. I don't get in until 11 something on Wednesday and the only other open seats were in Coach, which wouldn't be a huge deal since GE isn't really paying for (read "EVA is paying for screwing up the parts") but I didn't want it to look too bad since we are in such hard times. "Hey, did you hear so and so got canned? Yeah, and I heard Eric Scalf flew back in style with wine and a pricetag twice as much as he was supposed to use." Not so good.
So the work I'm here to do has gone faster than expected. I had 3 really good temp guys working for me today. They aren't degenerates or anything, just guys down on their luck. Two of them had their CDL, they just didn't have a company to drive for. Both were married and had kids and were doing whatever they could to get a little extra money. One guys wife was in school. So yeah, totally changed my perspective. They weren't much to look at at first so I kinda prejudged them. But by the end they knew what they were doing and thinking ahead to do it faster. We got about 65% of the way there, and we'll finish up tomorrow and then I'll fly back on Wednesday.
So I'm about to head out for some food cuz I'm starving. There is a strip mall across the street and a real mall. And my guys were suggesting places and they said Medieval Times, so I got all excited about it. So I checked it out and its only 13 miles away which isn't bad BUT ITS 52 DOLLARS! Holy crap..does anyone else think that is ridiculously expensive? I can go to Disneyland for a day for the same price as one meal! I've been before and I was thinking it was closer to 25 or 30 dollars, but 52. So that idea is out too. And we ate at a restaurant for lunch that was basically a Hardees with another name. I can't remember it. I wanted to eat somewhere that I couldn't eat in Louisville but its looking less and less likely. I'll probably wind up eating at Fridays or Red Lobster. What else...I've been taking Imodium AD the last two days. Helps a lot with bowels issues (sorry all your squeamish viewers). It removes any of the worry I have with travel, haha.
Oh yeah, just talked to Kyle and he told me the latest round of layoffs that he had heard of. A few people I wouldn't have suspected and a few I would have. So that will be good gossip material for when I get back into Louisville....which won't be soon enough.
P.S. My palms are blood red and hurt like hell from reassembling 437 trims. Owie

1 Observations or Opinions:
Don't go to Medieval Times! It's not worth it and the weird thing is they don't have utensils, but they have Pepsi! WTF? Anyway, I went to one in Dallas like eleven years ago and it was fun but I wouldn't really recommend it.
Eat Kashi! It's good for your bowels, too. Lots of fiber!
