So the wife will be home in a bit and I think she'll be happy with my progress in the house. I got up this morning around 8:30 and I've vacuumed, dusted, picked up the office, cleaned our bathroom, cleaned up the kitty mess and moved the computer and related stuff up to the office where they belong. AND in the middle of that I drove to my parents to eat some pork chops for lunch and help them move a big returnable dunnage container. SO yeah, thats a funny story. This guy my mom knows works for Johnson Controls which is a manufacturer of ALL things electronic as well as components and hardware for systems. They supplied all the PLCs (programmable Logic Controllers) at Ford when i was there and other stuff too. So basically everything that kept the trucks moving on the correct path came from them. And I bet they do stuff with GE too, but I can't be for certain. But anyway this guy works for them and told my mom they were throwing away 1000s of these returnable dunage containers which they use for transporting parts and products to assembly plants. The big ones fold up for easy return and they have smaller ones too. So my mom, being my mom, took tons of them because they make great storage bins. Well I didn't fall for it so there aren't any at my place, but I helped my dad move a HUGE one from their house to my sister's house today. She is gonna use it outside as a toy storer. And my sister had probably 80 of the smaller ones stacked up on the side of her house. Wow...like mother like daughter I guess. I either A) took more after my dad or B) turned out to be exactly like my mom but was able to catch it early enough so it didn't stick and in turn pretend to not be like my mom. I think it's B :(
So we moved that to my sisters house and took away one of her recliners from downstairs...it's busted and my dad is taking it to their house so they can take it out with the trash. They get one big item a week for curbside pickup so that is nice, I need to find out if we have that????
Oh yeah, I learned a lesson in greed/asshole-dom or whatever else you want to call it. So my sister and her husband have been having problems and filled for separation recently (smaller step then divorce). Well my parents informed me today at lunch that Ricky hadn't been paying my sister all the money that the mediator decided on. So she is getting about half that and with daycare, food, house and utilities she is just squeaking by. BUT, wait for the kicker. Ricky called the investment company where they had their kids college savings accounts. ( I can hear you gasp now...trust me, it doesn't get better). So he drained the account and had them send him a 5000 dollar check. The account was in both their names, but someone stupid at the bank cashed it with just his name on it, and with that money proceeded to trade in his car and buy a brand new Explorer. WHAT THE HELL! Sometimes you just never really know somebody it seems. Its just sick to me. My sister is trying to track down what the hell happened at the bank to let that happen. But it shouldn't be too big a deal, it will get noted at Mediation and the courts will take it into account. But really! I know it wasn't much, but it was a start. And the proper equation should be Your Kids Education >>>>>>>> New Car . I mean honestly.
Other than that, I'm backing up our laptop at the moment. 88 Minutes to go. I need some of my nerd friends to hook me up (that means you Zarek or Seth :) with a better way to backup. As of now I'm just copying everything, even pics and documents that haven't changed from last time. I takes about 7 gigs of space, and for now thats not a problem because I have plenty of room on the backup drive. BUT, if I could find a free or sharable program that would allow me to backup and then only update that backup file every so often that would be pimp.
Last night at Robs was a good time. Katherine had fun and she got to see her Pirate badboys in action again so I'm sure she had pleasant dreams. As for me, I'm glad Seth has come around, as he is good people. And Rob of course...he's great people. I feel sorry for his situation because I know it's trying but he'll figure it out. And then Katherine and I will hook him up ;) Enough of a rant for today.
And dibs go to anyone who can guess the meaning of this post's title....

4 Observations or Opinions:
Eric, I'm sorry about your sister. Some men (you are not included at all) are total assholes. And that was really stupid of the bank; that's why tellers have to be really careful about that kind of thing. Anyway, I'm glad you and Katherine are at least doing well, but again, that's terrible for your sister and her kids. Also, Explorers suck and are going to further contribute to global warming!
to the greatest song in the world....
And we have a winner!
woohoo! When do I get my dibs?
