When I got to work, Jan was there (she's 77 and makes breakfast one day a week) and one of the lights was out above the stove. I said, "Is one of the lights out?" after I said hello, and she said, "Well what does it look like?" How polite, huh? And when Dietra showed up and asked if Jan had called anyone to come and fix it, she said, "Does it look like I've had time to call anyone?" I guess someone had a case of the Mondays ... haha.
Today was extremely productive, and I guess it was because I was working out my frustration. Not only did I flip salads and make Cubans, but I also put in the chickens, stocked the entire deli by myself, finished the bills from last week, put some of the orders away (in the freezer, mind you - I was in zero degrees for about 15 minutes) because Sara is not here to do it and someone had to do it, and I did five backup cakes and one order. So I was very very busy. Kelly was going to teach me how to order stuff, but I wanted to leave on time and I had put the Cuban meat in the oven for tomorrow, so she's going to teach me next time. While we were up there, Derrick talked to us for about 15 minutes about how we're doing such a wonderful job and that until now, Sara would never have thought to take two weeks off from work. But now that she has such wonderful help (grin), she feels fine taking that much time off. Derrick also said that when he said he may need a manager in about a year, he wasn't talking about Sara leaving at all; he thinks that the manager at the Iroquois store is going to have to retire soon, so he was thinking about having me be manager at a different store. I don't want to leave this store, though - I love all the people I work with!
After work I headed over to mom's house and looked at all the stuff she bought from Williamsburg and listened to her talk about her trip. We had dinner at QDoba and talked about her trip some more. Haha. It was nice, though; I missed her. We are going to Centre on Wednesday. Yay! Once I got home, I made my icing for my cake and iced my cake. It looks fantastic if I do say so myself. :o)
And now I'm watching this crazy Nascar woman on "Deal or No Deal" and waiting for Eric to get home from his sister's house.

I'm sorry baby. I'll vent to the wall next time before I type it in the journal :)
I had a case of Monday's today...we are going to bed way early to help that tomorrow. Monday's stink!
