Today was a very busy day; so busy in fact that I did not take a lunch break and I just left at 2:30. I flipped the salads, made Cubans, then did the orders for tomorrow and finally did 168 cupcakes for the displays up front. I had some pumpkin sugar cookies to dip in chocolate, but I had no time. One thing I'm coming to find out about this job - there is always more to do than I will be able to finish. It keeps me busy, though, so that's good. If I can't finish it and it needs to be done, I'll stay until it's done, or I can do it the next day.
So I got home at 2:45 or so (called the glasses place - they still aren't in) and took a nap until Eric got home. I should not make a habit of this, but the couch is so comfortable and inviting. :o) We had pasta, some pineapple, and some toast for dinner, then I painted the pilasters for the fireplace. They are drying right now. We made a trip to Dairy Queen (bad, bad girl) and now we are watching "Fellowship of the Ring." We watched the other two this weekend when we were working on the mantel, so we're just finishing the series, although backwards. These movies amaze me ... they make me feel weird, but it's a good weird. They take me out of the real world when I watch them or something. It's hard to explain. Maybe it has to do with the music. Anyway, we're watching that now. Tomorrow I will attempt to sleep in and then go to the gym after being a bit lazy. Then it's some mom and me time doing what we do best ... eating out somewhere and spending time looking at stuff we don't need. Good times. :o)
I tried to upload some pictures of the mantel, but Mozilla is being silly, so I will try again in the morning.
