Sustainable Mommy

The weather is so appropriate for this morning; it is dark and stormy. Just like our parents will always remember where they were when they learned Kennedy was shot, I think that we, their children, will always remember where we were when we learned that America had been attacked (that's not to say that our parents don't remember that, too). I was sitting in Mr. Weaver's office in the choir room stuffing envelopes for mailings to schools and teachers for the Middle School Festival. Mrs. Allen came over the loudspeaker and said, "Students, there has been an attack on the US. Please turn on your tvs to watch the coverage." The rest of the day we watched tv in class - something you would never normally do. The only class where we didn't watch tv was German, where the Frau felt we should do some actual work that day. We were all very angry with her. Oh well.

In happier news, we had a good weekend. Friday night, we went to Cheddars with Jason and Lauren and Josh. We hung out at their house afterwards and came home around 11. Saturday I went to the Decorator's Showcase with mom and we had a nice lunch there. Then we went to the mall/Summit for some shopping. I got home around 4. That night we didn't do anything at all - we watched a "Mona Lisa Smile" in bed and just enjoyed the evening. Sunday we woke up early and got out of bed late. We had lunch and went to the mall where I returned all the stuff I bought on Saturday and bought a different pair of shoes and a new pair of black pants. We went to my parent's house and I stayed there for awhile until we had dinner at Panera, then Eric went to his house where his dad could help him get the adirondack (sp?) chairs from his mamaw and papaw's house. They look nice on our porch. We got home around 9:00 and watched the 9/11 movie until bedtime.

I keep thinking about this interview tomorrow ...
