Sustainable Mommy

We stayed in our pajamas all day yesterday - it was fun! There was a time when Duncan was younger when I would be terrified to stay home all day because I often couldn't get him to nap and I had much less patience. These days, though, I can watch him play by himself for a good 20 or 30 minutes. I play with him, too, and show him how to do things, but for the most part, he's a content little boy when he's fed, clean, and not tired.

I planned dinner early and started on it at 3:00. We had organic chicken smothered with gravy (I don't like that title - it really wasn't too smothered), sweet potato fries, courtesy of our CSA, and homemade dinner rolls with milk and eggs from the CSA, too. Somehow, I managed to finish everything within minutes of each other, too!
Later, we relaxed and watched tv, and Jack did this:

Eric is home today! Pretty exciting. Hopefully he can work on the bookcases! Oh, and I'm also going to take down the tree.

I'm trying to find a "Ride-On" toy for Duncan for his birthday. I don't really want one that lights up and has music and all of that, so I'm leaning toward this one. Any thoughts? He really likes his Radio Flyer wagon, so I'm sure he would love this, too. It's really hard to believe that he's going to be 1!
