Sustainable Mommy

It's not me this time, though I wish that it were. Duncan has strep throat! He started getting a fever yesterday afternoon and it spiked a few times during the evening. I went to choir, though, and he slept just fine for the majority of the night. We gave him Tylenol at 10:30 and 2, and he nursed at those times and 3:30 and 6:30. We actually slept until 8 today! He seemed to be better this morning, but I took him to the doctor anyway, just to make sure things were okay. They weighed and measured him (25lbs 6oz and 31 inches) and pricked his finger. I got to hold him while they did that - it was so sad! Since we did that today, he won't have to have it done again when we go for his 1 year checkup in a few weeks. Thank goodness; it was not fun. I picked up a prescription for him (Amoxicillin - it's that think pink liquid stuff - anyone else remember that from when we were kids? I do.) and gave him that and Tylenol when we got home, and now he's taking a nap. He's contagious for 24 hours, so we'll be staying home today.

I really have no idea where he caught this - we didn't leave the house on Friday; on Saturday we went to the couch place, Target, Olive Garden, and Costco (we held him all those places except for Olive Garden, and there he was sitting in the highchair with the cover and I wiped down the table before he ate), and Sunday I went to my mom's. So who knows.

He is extra cuddly, though. I really don't like that he's sick, but I enjoy the cuddles. They're few and far between.
