Sustainable Mommy

In no particular order (well, maybe in order of preference, but not in an order that makes logical sense), here is a list of the projects we hope to undertake in the next few months:

- Finish installing the bookcases (trim, etc.) and occupy said bookcases with pots/pans, food storage stuff, cookbooks, dishtowels, and a few other miscellaneous items
- Create recessed "cabinet" with doors above the mantel so that we can "hide" the tv. I do not like that it's the focal point of the room.
- Install motion sensor light in our closet; we purchased this the other night and Eric is itching to install it.
- Paint the entire downstairs and upstairs hallway
- Paint the kitchen cabinets
- Add pulls to said cabinets
- Paint kitchen table
- Paint new storage bench
- Install laminate floors (though I wish it was bamboo or real wood)
- Purchase a new couch and sell the old ones on craigslist
 - Make (yes, make) new curtains for the downstairs

And much father down the road, we ("I") hope to purchase new bedroom furniture from Ikea, though that's not too sustainable, is it? We're just fine with what we have. Maybe we can give our current furniture a face lift somehow. 

We woke up to our first "real" snow of the season today. I had hoped Eric would be able to stay home, but no such luck. He is at work and I don't think I'll be leaving the house today.

Tonight's dinner menu:  Breaded chicken cooked on the stove, sweet potato fries, and one other vegetable that I have not decided on yet. I may bake some cookies today, too, if I'm feel ambitious later. First, de-cluttering. It never ends.
