Better

It took me until this afternoon to get out of the funk I seemed to be in yesterday and last night. Hormones, maybe? I have no idea. But I am better, and I'm sorry, Eric! Thank you for loving me even when I'm not much fun to be around.

Duncan surprised us with a 6:45 wake-up call this morning. We held off as long as we could, hoping he would go back to sleep. No luck. We got him up and let him play around in our room until 8:00, put him back down, and we all slept until 9:20. So much for a good first nap! We decided that I would head to my mom and dad's for the afternoon, while Eric worked on some things around the house. I half-jokingly said when I got back that next weekend he's taking Duncan for the day while I can stay home and "work on some things." Ha. I had a nice time at my mom and dad's, though Duncan refused to nap. Guess it was destined to be that kind of day!

After a nice dinner together, Duncan headed off to bed and Eric painted the rest of the kitchen. It looks A-MAZ-ING. I will post pictures in the morning - I haven't taken any yet because I am waiting for it to dry completely, and it will also look even better in the daylight. SO excited to get the rest of the family room painted and get our couch in a few weeks!

I've been messing around with my RSS feed, but I still don't fully understand how it works. If anyone can assist me in getting the blogs that I follow onto the sidebar in the blog, I would be grateful. :o)

On the agenda for this week: laundry and cleaning, as usual; an oil change, going through the cabinet underneath my bathroom sink, finish painting downstairs, sell our current couches on craigslist, and ... that's about it.

I have a choir retreat next weekend, and I've been dreading it for pretty much an entire year because it's always the same weekend. It's Friday night and all day Saturday. Well, I talked to my director, and basically what it boils down to is that I'm just not ready to spend a night away from Duncan yet.  I thought I would be okay, and a part of me was looking forward to sleeping an entire night without having to get up to nurse him. I'm just going to drive up early on Saturday morning. I feel much better about the whole thing now. Voces Novae is also singing the Verdi Requiem with the Louisville Orchestra at the end of the month. I made this commitment, but I have to back out - there are rehearsals and/or a performance every single night from the 24th to the 29th. I just can't miss that many bedtimes, and it's mainly because I don't have that much milk stored. The week would just be really stressful if I was involved in the whole thing. Thank goodness my director agrees with me.

Bedtime. Wahoo!
