This morning was Duncan's 4 month doctor's appointment. He is a big boy! He weighs 17lbs 2oz and is 26 inches long. He's in the 90%-ile for both, so he's very balanced. :o) Dr. Allgeier said we can start cereal anytime we want to, but we'll be waiting at least a month. Ideally, 2 months, but we'll see how things go.

Nights are still about the same. He's waking up 3 and 4 times, always wanting to eat. The pediatrician said that we need to try to distinguish between whether he's hungry or just wants to be rocked back to sleep. Hrm. We'll see how it goes. I think he's just a growing boy, so he needs to eat a lot! But I agree that it doesn't make much sense that he was sleeping so well and now it's awful. Oh well. One day at a time. :o)

Last week at Weight Watchers, I lost 4.2 pounds!!! I was ecstatic!!! But I also had a bad sinus infection and didn't eat much on Monday or Tuesday, so I think that contributed to it. I think I'm going to gain weight this week. But that's okay; 8 weeks of straight weightloss is pretty good! So I am up to 17.6 pounds total. I'm just 7 pounds over my pre-pregnancy weight. YAY!

I bought Duncan an exersaucer/bouncer today. He looks so cute in it. I put it together all by myself, hehe.

Mom gets home tomorrow ... I think it's been over a year since I've gone this long without seeing her. Yes, I'm a mommy's girl. I can't deny it. :o)

Katherine, I'm wondering if cereal will help him sleep a little more. I've heard that cereal will keep babies full longer, so maybe he wouldn't wake up as much if he started on some (just a little) cereal now? I know when we started Sophie on cereal, we only gave her a couple of tablespoons with her dinner to start with, and although she's always been a good sleeper, I think it started her along the path to a regular full-night's sleep. You mention that he's hungry a lot, so maybe some cereal will help spread those feedings out a little? Each baby is different, so I don't know, but it might be worth a try...
