Dear Duncan,
You are growing up way too fast! On Monday morning, we discovered that your first tooth is getting ready to break through! You even gave mommy a bite mark on her finger. :o) So far, teething doesn't seem to be affecting you that much. You seem to be fussiest in the evenings, anyway, so we can't tell that much difference.
It is so easy to make you smile these days. Your gummy smiles make our day.
We had a breakthrough with naps last week. All I have to do is put you down on your belly, turn on your rainforest soother, and you find your thumb and go right to sleep. It takes a lot of stress off of mommy and lets her get some work done! I'm not sure how long this will last, but it's very nice for now! Nights are getting better, too. You go right to sleep at 7pm after your bottle, and wake up around 2 and 5, and get up for good between 7 and 8. Thank you for being a good sleeper.
Your exersaucer is becoming more fun for you every day. Mommy and daddy love to watch you discover new things on it. Just in the past week, we've noticed how much better you are at grabbing things. You don't just grab in mid-air anymore. You have a goal! :o)
You are rolling from your back to your tummy constantly now, but we have yet to see you do it from your tummy to your back on purpose.
Breastfeeding is still going great, and at this point we will wait to give you solids until your 6 month birthday, if you are ready by then. So far you have absolutely no interest in what mommy and daddy eat. Mommy is a little anxious about starting solids since it is completely new and will require a lot of attention.
We are going on your first vacation in a few weeks! Unfortunately, daddy won't be able to come with us, but he will be with us in August for the next one. We're going to take you to Texas to visit with Uncle Seth, Aunt Jeanine, and your cousin, Liam! We'll take lots of pictures and have lots of fun.
We are so happy that you're in our lives and we are so excited for the future.
Love Mommy
