Decisions!

It's been a very relaxing weekend!

On Friday night, Diana and Harry came over and we had dinner, watched some tv, and then headed to Pie Kitchen for some dessert. We had a great time!

On Saturday, Eric and I went down Bardstown to visit a store called Mama's Hip. We have decided that we are going to go the cloth diaper route - both for the environmental reasons and for the money reasons. We have both done extensive research over the past few days, as well as talked to people who already use them and rave about them. I am really excited! This is what we are probably going to use: BumGenius 3.0s. They are the ones at the bottom of the page that only come in the one size. However, we have read that this kind, though getting amazing reviews for almost every reason, do not do so well on newborns because the babies are so tiny. So, we are going to consider renting Kissaluvs from a website called www.sunshinediapers.com, where you pay $200 to have them for 3 months and then you can return them for a store credit of $120. We still have more research to do, but now that I have actually figured out the different kinds and brands and all that, the concept is a lot less daunting. Here is a lady's blog that I found very helpful. To read part 2, click on "main" and it's the "specifics" post. ANYWAY, the store, Mama's Hip, had some BumGenius 3.0s to look at, so that made the whole idea less foreign, too, since we could feel them and see what they're all about.

This store is also the location where we will be attending our Bradley Birthing Method Classes that begin on November 8th. It runs for 12 weeks and the last class is on my due date. Haha. But I am extremely excited about the possible idea of having a natural birth! I know that things do happen and I am not going to let things transpire to the point of possibly harming our baby, but the class is more about making sure that your body is prepared, and that you are ready for all different kinds of things that could happen. It also focuses on the significant other being a major part of the birth, and I like that part, too. Eric is still a bit freaked out by the whole thing, but I think that once we get into the classes, he will be just as excited as I am. The instructor, whom I have been emailing back and forth with, said that many times the dads gets even more excited than the moms! So like I said, I am excited. :o)

After looking around the store, we had a very nice lunch at Impellizeri's Pizza on Bardstown and met mom at Babies R Us. Always fun to look around in there, I think! Once back at home, we finished watching "Frontier House" and then started cleaning. We are very efficient once we are determined! After dinner, we finished cleaning and watched tv until heading to bed rather early.

This morning, Eric cut his hair and I rescued it from disaster. :o) We went through our books in the basement and took about 30 of them to Half Price Books. We made $30.50 and then spent $15 on two books: "Husband-Coached Birth" by the Bradley Method guy, and also "What To Expect In the First Year," which I know I could wait to buy, but it was only $7, so I thought, why not? We picked up lunch at Jersey Mike's and headed to mom and dad's to be lazy ... which is exactly what we were until dinnertime. Mom treated us to QDoba and then we spent about 20 minutes with Ron at mom and dad's house. We stopped at Kroger on the way home and got some goodies, and now we're here.

Still no baby kicks. :o(

Jury duty begins tomorrow. Speaking of which, I should probably find out where I'm supposed to go ...

If you register at Target too, you can register for the Bum Genius. I know others who registered for them there as well.
