Finally .... again

Our wireless router is no longer working, so we have put the computer up in our office/future nursery permanently. This means that I am no longer on the computer every waking moment that I am on the couch. So, this is good ... but that's why I'm not posting as much recently.
Last week was really really good, actually. On Monday night, we had dinner at the Forum with the parents, grandma, and Trent. Food was so so, but that's the first time I've felt that way about it. From there we sat at Outback Steakhouse with Rob and Ashley and Ashley's mom while they ate dinner. Then we celebrated Ashley's birthday with the beautiful cake that I decorated earlier in the day for Rob on a spur of the moment notice (kind of like the lady who called today who said "I'd like to place an order for two full sheet cakes to pick up tonight" - gotta love it), but it was cool. :o) I slept well that night.
Tuesday was the first night that Eric and I ate at home by ourselves in probably a week. It was nice. :o)
On Wednesday, my "day off," I worked from 11 to 3 at the Loft, and I was really nervous about it, but the time went quickly and everything went fine. I made a few mistakes, but I am getting much better. I am enjoying working there more and more each time that I go. I wish that I wasn't working so much this week, but it's the only week that will be like that. I am working tomorrow night, Thursday night, and Saturday night. However, this means that I am COMPLETELY off on Wednesday, as well as Sunday (I requested that day off). Next week, however, I am only working Monday night, and then I am on call on Tuesday and Friday nights. So yay for that.
Thursday, what did we do Thursday ... oh, I worked. ALL DAY. Valu the normal hours, then Loft from 5 to close. It was a long day, but not unbearable. I was just on my feet for 12 hours - no big deal. :o)
Friday came and went, and Eric and I had leftovers and went to Bed Bath and Beyond to get Joanna and TJ a gift for the wedding. The most exciting part of that day (besides getting to see Eric, of course, hehe) was watching the premiere of a new episode of "Man vs. Wild" on the Discovery Channel. We LOVE that show. It's very entertaining, and very educational.
On Saturday, I worked from 5am to 8am and was back home in bed before Eric got up. It was so nice. We slept in (if you can call that sleeping in) and showered and went to Cincinnati for the wedding. We had lunch at Newport on the Levee at a restaurant called Cafe Istanbul. We got the Kebab Sampler and it was fantastic. We hurried to Ashley's house to change for the wedding, then pretty much headed right back downtown. The ceremony was nice ... a bit long, but nice. The reception was wonderful - good food, good company, good music. I loved seeing everyone - I hadn't seen anyone since graduation. I miss a lot of people, but most of all Ashley and Rebecca. I have seen Ashley since graduation, but not Rebecca. We were really close in Strasbourg and it all kind of went away when we got back to the US. It's sad how that happens. I want to make a better effort to stay in contact with people. Anyway, we all danced and drank and had a grand 'ole time. Eric and I got home around 1am.
Yesterday ... stayed in bed until 11am. Wonderful. Went to his parent's house for a quick lunch before I had to be at work at 2. We got out of there at 6:45 (thanks to the kind woman who was shopping in there until 6:20 - 20 minutes after we closed) and Eric and I had dinner with my parents at QDoba. Where else? We talked a lot about the reunion. It is going to be a lot of fun! It's a shame it's going to be so short. :o( Although, what else is there to do, I guess? It's not like we would all go to a theme park or something, haha. We had a nice dessert at my parent's house and got home around 9.
I worked 6 to 2 today in case I had to be at the Loft at 5. They don't need me, so yay for that! Another night I get to spend with Eric. :o) I got a lot accomplished at work today. Besides the usual flipping salads and making Cubans, I got all caught up with backups because people bought so many yesterday for Father's Day (although we got 24 semi-cute ones from Heitzman's that were already decorated for that purpose, and we sold 7 of them), cut up the Heitzman's cakes into quarters to sell them for $1.99, did two full sheet cakes that were last minute orders, and finished up with 12 cookies and cream cakes. Yes, you read correctly. It's chocolate cakes with cookies and cream icing. A-MAZ-ING. Not that I would know ...
So now I'm home and waiting for Eric. Not sure what we will do tonight ... make a few returns/adjustments, perhaps. Good news on his (well, I guess "our") front, though - Jim, his boss from refrigeration, accepted Eric to be part of the program and wants him to start ASAP ... meaning, he's Jim is going to talk to Eric's current boss to negotiate ... meaning, the sooner Eric starts, the sooner he gets his raise. YAY! :o) We will also be receiving a new refrigerator next week. Ah, the joys of being a G.E. wife. Hehe.
I will post a few pictures from the wedding soon.
Until next week ... unless I get ambitious ... or have extra time, which is unlikely. :o)

3 Observations or Opinions:
Eric won't get his raise any sooner than anyone else I don't believe. It will all be when Karen gets her decisions in...so yeah, sometime along about September or so knowing her track record... :-( I wish it was sooner too...I could use a little extra cash for a fence and a class at U of L right now...
True, because Karen sucks, but it will be sooner than those who finish out their Edison program in July because he is most likely moving sooner than everyone else.
Last year he got it in July.
Yeah, thanks Mr. Half empty. SHE BLOWS!
