Anyone who says that an ice storm in San Antonio is "not related to global warming" needs to get their head out of their ass. A bit of irony ... Seth came up here for some cold weather and it was in the 60s the whole time he was here. In fact, his plane was canceled because there was ice in Dallas! AND the day after he left (yesterday), it snowed practically all day. I want to move to Hawaii. Well, maybe not, but I want a predictable climate!
"American Idol" premiered last night. WAHOO! There were some pretty terrible auditions, but it was fun to watch. Another two hours tonight- yay!
I had my second cake decorating class last night - I had so much stuff to take that I ended up using my backpack for all of it, so today I am going to Michael's to get a caddy. I'm also going to stop by the Shane Company to get my ring cleaned and to Target to ... well, just because. I can always go to Target! :o)
So things are finally settling back down. It's been a very busy few weeks ... friends in town, family in town, lots of eating at restaurants ... my boss, Sara, is out of town for TWO weeks (in Florida visiting her dad) and I always feel like work is a bit chaotic when she isn't there. Kelly is in charge and she did a pretty good job last time Sara was gone (the week after Christmas), so hopefully things will go well this time, too. There are so many things that we have to do - remembering to order things, mainly - and it's very difficult to keep track of everything. Yesterday I got a head start on Valentine's stuff. I know it's far away, but I'll be thankful that I have it done in a few weeks. I did a box each of round message cookies and heart shaped message cookies.
I have my cleaning at the dentist today - boo. I was doing so well with flossing for about two weeks and then I had my wisdom teeth out and I just didn't start up again. Oops.
I am so glad that Seth and Jeanine were here. I miss my brother so much (and Jeanine, too, of course) and we have such a good time when we're together. That's why I think I've decided that instead of going to Florida in March, we're going to take a trip down to Texas. I really want to go to Florida, and we will sometime, but there are so many things I want to do in the next few years that I have to prioritize somewhat. Not that seeing Jessica and going to Disneyworld isn't a priority - I just miss my brother. Before Eric and I have children, I (well, I'm pretty sure it's "we") want to go to Washington DC to visit Marianne and to Minnesota to visit Ann and Katy, as well as Florida.
