I got to work about 20 minutes early on Friday and got a call from Eric two minutes after I got there. He said that his flight to Dallas had been canceled and that he would call me as soon as he got another flight. I didn't hear from him until about noon and he said he would be on a flight to Houston at 12:40 central time. So I stayed at work until 4 and when I got home I took a nap and waited to hear from Eric about when his flight would be into Louisville. His flight was set to arrive at 8:09, so Diana came with me and we went to meet him. It was a happy reunion. :o) We went to dinner at O'Charley's and got home at 10, just in time for me to go to bed.

I really didn't want to go to work yesterday ... but I did, of course. It was just Kelly, Dietra, and myself all day. Dietra received a call around 9 from a family member saying that her cousin, a 17 year old gang member in Indianapolis, had been shot and killed earlier that morning. Very sad for her ... she didn't know him too well, but it's still awful. I did cakes all day and finished them at a decent hour. Kasey called at 2:30 and said that she was sick and couldn't come it. I let her talk to Jeff (asst. manager - Derrick wasn't there yesterday) and he kind of made her come in. It was the night of the Christmas party and she was the only one working. If she hadn't come in, then we would have had to close down the deli at 3, and that's not really a good thing. So anyway, Kasey got there at 3:30, finally, looking like she felt kind of bad (we think she was just hungover ...), and Kelly and I high-tailed it home.

We got ready for the evening and left for my mom's house around 5, I think. Eric dropped me off and went to hang out with his parents, and mom and I left for the madrigal dinner. We were at a table with Marie and Katie, so that was nice. :o) Everything was good - the food, the music, the ambiance - and it made me just a little bit nostalgic. I told Weaver I am auditioning for the Louisville Chorus and he told me to audition for Voces Novae instead. I don't know if I'll listen, but maybe. I'll talk to Dan about it, too, if he ever emails me back. I know that he is busy this week, though - he is in an opera! Haha. Eric picked me up from the dinner and we went to the Christmas party. It was a lot of fun! There were lots of people there and we danced and talked and decided that Sara sounds and looks like Kitty Forman from "That 70s Show." Hahaha! Oh, and everyone got a gift ... lots of them were good (cameras, mp3 players, cool giftcards) and I got seriously jipped. I got a 5 dollar giftcard to ValuMarket. I mean, come on. I freaking work there. I guess money is money or whatever, but I would have liked something cool. Oh well. We got home at 11 and went to bed.

This morning we didn't wake up until 9! That's a big deal for me! I made omelets for us for breakfast and then we watched "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory." We fell asleep for a little bit longer and then got up and made a Tombstone for lunch and we are now watching "Pirates of the Caribbean." This was actually Eric's choice - I can't believe that he wanted to watch it because usually it is my choice, haha. Now we are getting ready to to Christmas shopping ... the mall, BB&B, and maybe World Market.

I did a really awesome cake on Friday - I will post it later. :o)

I love the World Market. They sell the awesome German chocolate there and world beer!
