Friday was a pretty bad day at work ... although it was Friday and I had to keep reminding myself that. I left my cell phone at home, it took my 45 minutes to get to work because of the rain, and then when I got to work I found out that I didn't get my birthday off that I requested. So it was just bad all around. I burst into tears in my cube. In addition to that, I had several mean people during the first half of my day and I cried on the phone. I hope they couldn't tell. When I finally left work, I was very happy. Chrissy was coming! She planned to be there around the time I got home, but she left Chicago a little ate, so Eric and I went to Oriental House on Shelbyville and then stopped at Feeders Supply to look at the conure there. Chrissy arrived shortly after we got home and then we went to Dairy Queen so she could get a salad, we got some blizzards, and we stopped at the liquor store so she could get some wine and I got a few girly drinks. We just talked the rest of the night and watched tv and finally went to bed around 1:00.
Saturday morning Eric made us muffins and we watched tv for awhile until showering. It was a NASTY rainy day outside, but that didn't stop us from going out. We went to two pet stores and then met Chrissy's mom and aunt and Mark's Feed Store for lunch. Their bbq is, of course, fantastic. We went to two more pet stores after that, then came home and took a short nap. Went to mom's house to talk for awhile and then went to a late dinner at Carrabba's. It was fanstastic! Eric and I got side caesar salads and split a pizza and we were sitting at the bar, so we got to watch them make our pizza. Plus, we didn't have to wait. We always sit there when we go. Went to bed after watching "Chocolat." We both share an obsession with Johnny Depp. Haha.
I got up at 8 and showered and went to my interview. I think that it went really well - I spoke well and answered all the questions without any hesitation, really. The only thing is that I could be working second shift, so if I get an offer, I will have to consider it very carefully. If it's second shift a few times a week, that's okay. But if it's all the time, then I will never get to see Eric and that would not be good. So there are lots of things to consider. While I was at the hotel, I called Eric and he said that when I got home we could go buy the bird. When I got home, though, he had changed his mind, so that made me kind of irritated. I guess it's good, though, because I think we've decided not to get the bird. It's just one more thing ... Chrissy and I went to the mall where I got two camisoles and a cream sweater from JC Penney's. I also got some eye shadow and face wash from Clinique. Then we went to the Summit where I got some flip flops at Old Navy because my shoes gave me blisters. I also bought a brown sweater there. We walked around Ulta and Eddie Bauer, then went to Meijer and finally headed home. We had Little Caesars for dinner and watched "Mrs. Doubtfire." We got some blizzards and watched "Princess Diaries" later, and went to bed early because we all had to get up early.
I cried a lot after I went to bed and I'm sure Eric thinks I'm crazy. I hate my job and that's all there is to it. Go figure, huh?
I talked to my supervisor yesterday morning and she said that she knows how I feel and that if I ever need to just step back for a little bit, just let her know and that's fine. She also said that I can go ahead and take my birthday off because everyone should have that day off. So yay! Eric and I are going to help my grandma move on Saturday morning, then go to a cabin near Cumberland Falls for two nights. Well deserved short vacation ... can't wait. Last night we went to Jason and Lauren's where the guys were fixing Kyle's car, and they had some pizza and we all watched some football from the Superdome. Like always, good times.
Have to finish getting ready now. At least it's not Monday.
