The first half of the weekend has been fantastic. On Friday night, Eric and I had a very nice dinner at Carrabba's, then spent the rest of the night relaxing and playing some Katamari (best game ever). On Saturday morning, we woke up no later than we do for work and got up to go out to some garage sales. The first sign that we saw was for a sale in Billtown Farms right across Billtown Road from us. So we went to look, and it seems that the one we stopped at wasn't even really a sale yet. He's working on it for the neighborhood one next weekend. But regardless, there was a washer and dryer sitting out in his garage. They are almost a year old and have been sitting in his garage for a while because of his divorce. So we told him that we wanted them and that we'd be back. Yay! We drove out to the bank to get some cash and then drove out to our "old neighborhood." We drove through the neighborhood garage sales in Goose Creek, Barbourmeade, and Barbour Manor, as well as Falls Creek looking for a coffee table with no luck. That's okay, though, because we were pumped about our upcoming purchase! We traded my car for my in-laws' van and we were back out to pick up the washer and dryer by 10:00. The deal was made and we were on our way back to the house when we decided to stop and ask Cameron if he would help us. He said of course and came back to the house to help. Earlier in the morning he had given us a box of Krispy Cremes. Yay! So I had two of those and I'm mad at myself for doing that, but it's too late now. Haha. Anyway, we got the washer and dryer up the stairs and then headed out to The Home Depot for some necessities.
At The Home Depot we bought (I was just corrected on how to say Home Depot - apparently I have to put THE in front of it, haha) a dryer vent and a basin for the washer, three mini blinds for the kitchen which will be put up later today, and some non slide stuff for under the TV on our new and beautiful tv stand that Eric bought yesterday before I got home from work. Back at home, we hooked up the washer and dryer then went downtown to the Irish Fest. Honestly, it was a giant let down. We got there at 3 because the dancers "Celtic Rhythm" were supposed to be good, but it was really just a bunch of middle aged people dancing Lord of the Dance dances and they were all pretty mediocre. So that was disappointing. We were going to stay and wait for Greta and her friend Natalie, and Jason and Lauren and some other friends to get there, but we called them and pretty much said forget it because there wasn't much to do.
Still in the mood for fish and chips, Eric and I decided to have dinner at the Irish Rover. Good times, good food. We got some of their great soda bread to take home, too. We stopped at Target to buy some detergent and took a short nap on the couch when we got home. We also did laundry in our very own house, which is very exciting to those who have always done laundry at school or at their parents' house. Sorry mom and dad. :o) Eric worked on moving the tv and hooking all that good stuff up on our new tv stand and then got frustrated when the tuner wouldn't work. So ... that's okay. We were going to put up the blinds last night, too, but we'll do that today. We're going to the church picnic and worship, then we'll have a few hours to work on the window before going back over to Eric's house for some quality time with Ricky and the kids. Today should be a good day. Actually, this whole week should be pretty good because we're getting our couch and I also have two job interviews. YAY. :o)
